Mississippi High School Basketball - South Panola bested by DeSoto Central
January 4, 2025: Southaven, MS 38672 DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting South Panola Tigers (Batesville, MS), 75-59 in a non-league match.
With the victory, DeSoto Central advances its record to 16-4 on the year. The Jaguars host Oxford (Oxford, MS) to encounter the Chargers in a 7A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 7. The Chargers come into the challenge with a record of 12-8. Oxford won 80-76 in their recent league challenge against Hernando (Hernando, MS)
In their next game, the Tigers encounter the Saltillo Tigers (Saltillo, MS) in a 6A Region 1 challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. South Panola will attempt to improve on its 5-13 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 14-4 record after their 70-63 non-league win over Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS).
