Mississippi High School Basketball - Wheeler can't get by Nettleton
January 4, 2025: Nettleton, MS 38858 Nettleton Tigers (Nettleton, MS) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wheeler Eagles (Wheeler, MS), 68-63 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Nettleton advances its record to 6-12 on the year. The Tigers travel to Aberdeen (Aberdeen, MS) to meet the Bulldogs in a 3A Region 4 match on Tuesday, January 7. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 8-8. Aberdeen lost 54-44 in their recent non-league match against West Point (West Point, MS)
The Eagles now own a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Walnut for a non-league match on Monday, January 6. Wheeler will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 73-55 non-league loss to Lawrence County (Moulton, AL). The Wildcats record now stands at 9-5.
