The River Valley Vikings basketball squad (Caledonia, OH), was outscored 39-27 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH)

With the victory, Mt. Vernon advances its record to 9-2 on the year. The Yellowjackets travel to Newark Catholic (Newark, OH) to meet the Green Wave in a Licking County - Cardinal battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Green Wave enter the battle with a record of 5-5. Newark Catholic lost 57-32 in their recent non-league battle against Waterford (Waterford, OH)
