In Friday's non-league outing, the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) basketball squad nipped the visiting James River HomeSchool Eagles (Chesterfield, VA), by a margin of 55-48.

The Gryphons (11-0) will now prepare for their outing against Blue Ridge (St. George, VA). The Barons go into the VISAA Division I outing with a 9-4 record. In their last outing, Blue Ridge got by United Faith Christian Academy (Charlotte, NC), 74-63, in a non-league outing.

The Eagles now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Varsity Opponent for a outing on Saturday, January 6.
