Illinois High School Basketball - Lowpoint-Washburn can't hold off Midland
January 5, 2024: Washburn, IL 61570 The Midland Timberwolves basketball team scored 68 points and held the host Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats to 63 in the Timberwolves league triumph on Friday.
The Timberwolves now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Earlville for a non-league contest on Monday, January 8. Midland will battle a Red Raiders team coming off a 54-41 non-league win over Polo (Polo, IL). The Red Raiders record now stands at 16-1.
The Wildcats (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against St. Bede (Peru, IL). The Bruins enter the Tri-County contest with a 2-12 record. In their last contest, St. Bede was nudged by Marquette (Ottawa, IL), 68-30, in a league contest.
