Mississippi High School Basketball - South Delta edges Simmons
January 5, 2024: Hollandale, MS 38748 The South Delta Bulldogs (Rolling Fork, MS) basketball nipped the host Simmons Blue Devils (Hollandale, MS), 72-69 in Friday's league test.
The Bulldogs (9-5) will now prepare for their test against Leland (Leland, MS). The Cubs go into the 1A Region 5 test with a 2-14 record. In their last test, Leland was tipped by West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS), 51-43, in a league test.
The Blue Devils now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to West Bolivar for a 1A Region 5 test on Tuesday, January 9. Simmons will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 46-43 league loss to Shaw (Shaw, MS). The Eagles record now stands at 8-10.
