North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS), 69-67 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, North Pontotoc upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Vikings host Ripley (Ripley, MS) to play the Tigers in a 4A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 2-8. Ripley lost 53-49 in their recent non-league bout against Falkner (Falkner, MS)
