West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), 59-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, West Carteret upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Patriots host White Oak (Jacksonville, NC) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 3-5. White Oak lost 35-31 in their recent non-league bout against Richlands (Richlands, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Dixon Bulldogs (Holly Ridge, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Croatan will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 55-31 non-league loss to Swansboro (Swansboro, NC).
