North Carolina High School Basketball - Croatan holds off Swansboro
February 7, 2023: Newport, NC 28570 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) and the visiting Swansboro Pirates (Swansboro, NC), saw Croatan's basketball squad hold off Swansboro by a tally of 46-44.
With the victory, Croatan improves its record to 9-11 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Richlands (Richlands, NC) to confront the Wildcats in a challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Richlands lost 63-31 in their recent non-league challenge against West Carteret (Morehead City, NC)
Next up, the Pirates confront the White Oak Vikings (Jacksonville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 9. Swansboro will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 7-9 record after their 38-29 non-league win over Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC).
