California High School Basketball - El Capitan topped by Helix

The Helix Highlanders basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the host El Capitan Vaqueros to 53 in the Highlanders non-league victory on Saturday.

The Highlanders now sport a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Steele Canyon for a Grossmont - Hills contest on Tuesday, January 9. Helix will battle a Cougars team coming off a 66-59 non-league loss to Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 7-11.

The Vaqueros (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA). The Braves come into the Grossmont - Valley contest with a 11-7 record. In their last contest, El Cajon Valley prevailed over High Tech NC (San Marcos, CA), 82-32, in a non-league contest.
