The Arcola Purple Riders basketball team scored 52 points and held the visiting Hoopeston Cornjerkers to 31 in the Purple Riders non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Purple Riders now sport a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond for a Lincoln Prairie contest on Monday, January 8. Arcola will battle a Knights team coming off a 40-32 league win over Cerro Gordo/Bement (Cerro Gordo, IL). The Knights record now stands at 12-7.

The Cornjerkers (8-9) will now prepare for their contest against Schlarman (Danville, IL). The Hilltoppers enter the Vermilion Valley contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Schlarman was routed by Watseka (Watseka, IL), 70-18, in a league contest.
