In Saturday's non-league outing, the Shelby-Rising City Huskies (Shelby, NE) basketball squad felled the visiting Meridian Mustangs (Daykin, NE), by a margin of 37-28.

The Huskies (6-4) will now prepare for their outing against Centennial (Utica, NE). The Broncos go into the non-league outing with a 4-6 record. In their last outing, Centennial was beaten by Southern Valley (Oxford, NE), 53-43, in a non-league outing.

The Mustangs now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Freeman for a non-league outing on Monday, January 8. Meridian will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 39-35 non-league win over Tri County (DeWitt, NE). The Falcons record now stands at 11-1.
