January 6, 2024: Rome, GA 30161 In Saturday's non-league outing, the Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA) basketball squad felled the host Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA), by a count of 77-60.
With the win, Pickens upgrades its record to 16-0 on the season. The Dragons host White County (Cleveland, GA) to play the Warriors in a AAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 14-2. White County won 44-40 in their recent non-league bout against Lawrence County (Lawrenceburg, TN)
Next up, the Blue Devils play the Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA) in a AA Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Model will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 51-31 non-league loss to Coosa (Rome, GA).
