The Vanguard Academy Valiant basketball squad (West Valley City, UT), was outscored 71-54 in Monday's league battle with the host American Prep WV Eagles (West Valley City, UT)

With the victory, American Prep WV advances its record to 5-5 on the year. The Eagles travel to Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams (Lehi, UT) to meet the Marauders in a 2A Region 16 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Marauders enter the battle with a record of 0-13. Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams lost 62-12 in their recent non-league battle against Bryce Valley (Tropic, UT)

The Valiant now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freedom Prep Academy for a 2A Region 16 battle on Thursday, January 9. Vanguard Academy will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 94-36 league loss to Rockwell (Eagle Mountain, UT). The Eagles record now stands at 5-7.
