Utah High School Basketball - Intermountain Christian toppled by Vanguard Academy

Vanguard Academy Valiant (West Valley City, UT) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Intermountain Christian Lions (Salt Lake City, UT), 61-47 in a league match.

With the victory, Vanguard Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Valiant travel to Freedom Prep Academy (Provo, UT) to face the Eagles in a 2A Region 16 match on Thursday, January 9. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 4-5.

The Lions now sport a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mount Vernon for a non-league match on Monday, December 16. Intermountain Christian will face a Patriots squad coming off a 91-23 non-league loss to Merit Preparatory Academy (Springville, UT). The Patriots record now stands at 0-5.
