In Monday's non-league outing, the University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Preston Knights (Kingwood, WV), by a margin of 62-43.

The Hawks (7-3) will now prepare for their outing against Brooke (Wellsburg, WV). The Bruins go into the Two Rivers outing with a 6-4 record. In their last outing, Brooke topped John Marshall (Glen Dale, WV), 53-37, in a league outing.

The Knights now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Marion for a Big Ten outing on Tuesday, January 8. Preston will clash with a Huskies squad coming off a 42-31 non-league win over Lincoln (Shinnston, WV). The Huskies record now stands at 5-2.
