The Hempstead Mustangs basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the host Jefferson Hawks to 35 in the Mustangs league victory on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crestwood for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 8. Hempstead will battle a Cadets team coming off a 40-37 league win over New Hampton (New Hampton, IA). The Cadets record now stands at 1-7.
