Indiana High School Basketball - New Castle can't hold off Connersville

The Connersville Spartans basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting New Castle Trojans to 48 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Spartans now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centerville for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 11. Connersville will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 63-38 non-league loss to Northeastern (Fountain City, IN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-8.

The Trojans (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN). The Cougars enter the Hoosier Heritage contest with a 8-1 record. In their last contest, Greenfield-Central nudged Mt. Vernon (Fortville, IN), 51-46, in a league contest.
