Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers (Newtown Square, PA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Haverford Fords (Havertown, PA), 55-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Marple Newtown upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Fightin' Tigers host Lower Merion (Ardmore, PA) to clash with the Aces in a Central bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Aces go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Lower Merion won 74-71 in their recent league bout against Springfield (Springfield, PA)

Next up, the Fords clash with the Penncrest Lions (Media, PA) in a Central bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Haverford will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 3-8 record after their 45-37 league loss to Ridley (Folsom, PA).
