January 7, 2023: Blue Ridge, GA 30513 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA) and the host Fannin County Rebels (Blue Ridge, GA), saw Elbert County's basketball squad hold off Fannin County by a tally of 58-53.
With the victory, Elbert County improves its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Blue Devils host Tallulah Falls (Tallulah Falls, GA) to play the Indians in a A D1 Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 4-9. Tallulah Falls lost 71-44 in their recent non-league challenge against Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA)
Next up, the Rebels play the Murray County Indians (Chatsworth, GA) in a AA Region 7 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Fannin County will attempt to improve on its 12-4 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 40-39 league win over Haralson County (Tallapoosa, GA).
