Ohio High School Basketball - West Muskingum nips New Lexington
January 7, 2023: New Lexington, OH 43764 Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the West Muskingum Tornadoes (Zanesville, OH) and the host New Lexington Panthers (New Lexington, OH), saw West Muskingum's basketball squad hold off New Lexington by a tally of 34-28.
With the victory, West Muskingum improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host Lakewood (Hebron, OH) to play the Lancers in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 9. The Lancers come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Lakewood lost 46-33 in their recent league challenge against Utica (Utica, OH)
Next up, the Panthers play the Crooksville Ceramics (Crooksville, OH) in a Muskingum Valley challenge, on Wednesday, January 11. New Lexington will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Ceramics come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 59-34 league loss to Coshocton (Coshocton, OH).
