Connecticut High School Basketball - Gilbert overwhelms Shepaug Valley
January 8, 2024: Washington, CT 06793 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Gilbert Yellowjackets (Winsted, CT) and the host Shepaug Valley Spartans (Washington, CT), saw Gilbert's basketball squad wallop Shepaug Valley by a tally of 62-21.
With the victory, Gilbert improves its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Thomaston (Thomaston, CT) to confront the Bears in a Berkshire challenge on Wednesday, January 10. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 7-1. Thomaston won 58-42 in their recent league challenge against Nonnewaug (Woodbury, CT)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Wamogo Warriors (Litchfield, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Wednesday, January 10. Shepaug Valley will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 72-34 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT).
