January 9, 2023: North Scituate, RI 02857 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI) and the host Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI), saw Prout's basketball squad overcome Ponaganset by a tally of 62-53.
With the victory, Prout improves its record to 1-8 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Mount St. Charles Academy (Woonsocket, RI) to play the Mounties in a Division 3 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Mounties come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Mount St. Charles Academy won 46-43 in their recent league challenge against Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln, RI)
Next up, the Chieftains play the Paul Cuffee (Providence, RI) in a Division 3 challenge, on Wednesday, January 11. Ponaganset will attempt to improve on its 6-4 season record. The come into the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 66-60 league loss to North Smithfield (North Smithfield, RI).
