Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bremen Braves (Midlothian, IL), 40-27 in a league bout.

With the win, Shepard upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Astros host Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL) to clash with the Meteors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Meteors go into the bout with a record of 6-17. Thornton Fractional North won 44-23 in their recent non-league bout against Payton College Prep (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Braves clash with the Hillcrest Hawks (Country Club Hills, IL) in a South Suburban - Blue bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Bremen will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 39-38 non-league win over Chicago Hope Academy (Chicago, IL).
