North Carolina High School Basketball - High Point Central holds off Rockingham County

January 10, 2024: High Point, NC 27262

Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the High Point Central Bison (High Point, NC) and the visiting Rockingham County Cougars (Wentworth, NC), saw High Point Central's basketball squad hold off Rockingham County by a tally of 58-54.

With the victory, High Point Central improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Bison host Ben L. Smith (Greensboro, NC) to confront the Golden Eagles in a 3A Mid-State challenge on Friday, January 12. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Ben L. Smith lost 60-56 in their recent league challenge against Southern Guilford (Greensboro, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Dudley Panthers (Greensboro, NC) in a 3A Mid-State challenge, on Friday, January 12. Rockingham County will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 5-5 record after their 76-36 league win over Northeast Guilford (McLeansville, NC).
