Pennsylvania High School Basketball - South Fayette nudges Mars

January 10, 2024: Mars, PA 16046

South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), 60-58 in a league bout.

With the win, South Fayette upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Lions host North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA) to clash with the Indians in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout on Friday, January 12. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 5-6. North Hills won 61-53 in their recent league bout against West Allegheny (Imperial, PA)

Next up, the Fightin' Planets clash with the Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout, on Friday, January 12. Mars will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 6-7 record after their 73-42 league loss to Moon Area (Moon Township, PA).
