Washington High School Basketball - Redmond nudges Mercer Island

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Redmond Mustangs (Redmond, WA) and the visiting Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA), observed Redmond's basketball team edge Mercer Island by a score of 60-53.

The Mustangs (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Mount Si (Snoqualmie, WA). The Wildcats come into the 4A KingCo challenge with a 9-2 record. In their last challenge, Mount Si edged Issaquah (Issaquah, WA), 60-58, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Islanders encounter the Mountlake Terrace Hawks (Mountlake Terrace, WA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 11. Mercer Island will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 5-7 record after their 46-43 league loss to Shorewood (Shoreline, WA).
