St. Anthony's Friars (Melville, NY) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting St. John the Baptist Cougars (West Islip, NY), 55-39 in a league match.

With the victory, St. Anthony's advances its record to 10-2 on the year. The Friars travel to Holy Trinity (Hicksville, NY) to face the Titans in a Catholic Nassau Suffolk match on Tuesday, January 14. The Titans enter the match with a record of 2-3.

The Cougars now own a 2-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK for a non-league match on Saturday, January 11. St. John the Baptist will face a Hawks squad coming off a 66-58 league loss to East Meadow (East Meadow, NY). The Hawks record now stands at 1-1.
