Iowa High School Basketball - Mt. Vernon crushes Vinton-Shellsburg
January 10, 2025: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) basketball crushed the visiting Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA), 77-25 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Mustangs now possess a 12-1 record. They play next when they host Center Point-Urbana for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 14. Mt. Vernon will play a Stormin' Pointers team coming off a 59-13 non-league win over Lincoln (Des Moines, IA). The Stormin' Pointers record now stands at 7-4.
With the loss, Vinton-Shellsburg falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Vikings host Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA) to play the Clippers in a WAMAC - West bout on Tuesday, January 14. The Clippers go into the bout with a record of 6-6. Clear Creek-Amana lost 74-61 in their recent non-league bout against Prairie (Cedar Rapids, IA)
