North Carolina High School Basketball - Shelby trounces Ashbrook

The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC), 53-28 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Golden Lions (11-1) will now prepare for their test against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons go into the 1A/2A Conference 40 test with a 9-4 record. In their last test, Thomas Jefferson walloped East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC), 45-44, in a league test.

The Greenwave now own a 10-4 record. They play next when they host South Point for a 3A Conference 50 test on Friday, January 13. Ashbrook will encounter a Red Raiders squad coming off a 59-48 league win over Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC). The Red Raiders record now stands at 9-6.
