McGehee Hawks (New Orleans, LA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 39-24 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McGehee upgrades its record to 8-3 on the season. The Hawks travel to Metairie Park Country Day (Metairie, LA) to clash with the Cajuns in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Cajuns go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Metairie Park Country Day lost 58-18 in their recent non-league bout against Northshore (Slidell, LA)

Next up, the Jaguars clash with the Franklinton Demons (Franklinton, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. Pope John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record.
