January 11, 2025: Cary, IL 60013 Cary-Grove Trojans (Cary, IL) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL), 49-47 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Cary-Grove advances its record to 13-5 on the year. The Trojans travel to Central (Burlington, IL) to face the Rockets in a Fox Valley match on Tuesday, January 14. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 12-5. Central won 72-53 in their recent non-league match against Freeport (Freeport, IL)
The Cougars now own a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maine West for a Central Suburban - North match on Tuesday, January 14. Vernon Hills will face a Warriors squad coming off a 74-45 league loss to Highland Park (Highland Park, IL). The Warriors record now stands at 7-9.
