Western Panthers (Russiaville, IN) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Logansport Berries (Logansport, IN), 48-40 in a league match.

With the victory, Western advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Panthers host Maconaquah (Bunker Hill, IN) to face the Braves in a non-league match on Friday, January 24. The Braves enter the match with a record of 4-1.

The Berries now own a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McCutcheon for a non-league match on Friday, January 17. Logansport will face a Mavericks squad coming off a 53-50 non-league win over Tri-West Hendricks (Lizton, IN). The Mavericks record now stands at 1-0.
