Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY) and the visiting Amherst Central Tigers (Amherst, NY), saw Starpoint's basketball squad hold off Amherst Central by a tally of 53-47.

With the victory, Starpoint improves its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Spartans host Kenmore East (Tonawanda, NY) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 0-6. Kenmore East lost 55-19 in their recent league challenge against Niagara Falls (Niagara Falls, NY)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Sweet Home Panthers (Amherst, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County II challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Amherst Central will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
