Indiana High School Basketball - Washington overwhelms Pike Central

January 12, 2023: Washington, IN 47501

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Washington Hatchets (Washington, IN) and the visiting Pike Central Chargers (Petersburg, IN), saw Washington's basketball squad wallop Pike Central by a tally of 61-39.

With the victory, Washington improves its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Hatchets host Gibson Southern (Fort Branch, IN) to play the Titans in a Pocket challenge on Saturday, January 14. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 15-3. Gibson Southern won 65-54 in their recent league challenge against Tecumseh (Lynnville, IN)

Next up, the Chargers play the North Posey Vikings (Poseyville, IN) in a Pocket challenge, on Saturday, January 14. Pike Central will attempt to improve on its 4-15 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 48-39 non-league loss to Evansville Mater Dei (Evansville, IN).
