Colorado High School Basketball - Montezuma-Cortez overwhelms Bayfield
January 12, 2024: Cortez, CO 81321 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers (Cortez, CO) and the visiting Bayfield Wolverines (Bayfield, CO), saw Montezuma-Cortez's basketball squad wallop Bayfield by a tally of 71-25.
With the victory, Montezuma-Cortez improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Alamosa (Alamosa, CO) to confront the Mean Moose in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge on Saturday, January 13. The Mean Moose come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Alamosa won 53-47 in their recent league challenge against Ignacio (Ignacio, CO)
Next up, the Wolverines confront the Centauri Falcons (La Jara, CO) in a 4A/3A Intermountain challenge, on Saturday, January 13. Bayfield will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 6-3 record after their 44-39 league loss to Pagosa Springs (Pagosa Springs, CO).
