In Friday's league outing, the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears (Mahanoy City, PA) basketball squad nipped the host Tri-Valley Bulldogs (Hegins, PA), by a margin of 38-37.

The Golden Bears (3-7) will now prepare for their outing against Schuylkill Haven (Schuylkill Haven, PA). The Hurricanes go into the non-league outing with a 13-1 record. In their last outing, Schuylkill Haven got by Shenandoah Valley (Shenandoah, PA), 50-33, in a non-league outing.
