Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) and the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), saw Alexander Central's basketball squad knock off Ashe County by a tally of 40-27.

With the victory, Alexander Central improves its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Watauga (Boone, NC) to play the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Watauga lost 64-47 in their recent non-league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)

Next up, the Huskies play the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Ashe County will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-5 record after their 60-15 non-league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC).
