The Van Alstyne Panthers basketball team (Van Alstyne, TX), was nudged 51-49 in Friday's league battle with the host Aubrey Chaparrals (Aubrey, TX)

The Chaparrals now sport a 19-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Celina for a 4A Region II District 11 battle on Tuesday, January 17. Aubrey will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 67-44 league loss to Anna (Anna, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 16-9.

The Panthers (12-12) will now prepare for their battle against Ranchview (Irving, TX). The Wolves come into the 4A Region II District 11 battle with a 6-14 record. In their last battle, Ranchview was nudged by Panther Creek (Frisco, TX), 70-60, in a league battle.
