Florida High School Basketball - Menendez nips Matanzas

Menendez Falcons (St. Augustine, FL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Matanzas Pirates (Palm Coast, FL), 77-73 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Menendez upgrades its record to 5-13 on the campaign. The Falcons host Oakleaf (Orange Park, FL) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 16-1. Oakleaf won 67-36 in their recent non-league bout against Clay (Green Cove Springs, FL)

Next up, the Pirates play the San Jose Prep Storm (Jacksonville, FL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Matanzas will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Storm come into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 68-64 non-league win over Varsity Opponent (, ).
