California High School Basketball - Independence nips Pioneer
January 13, 2023: San Jose, CA 95118 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Independence 76ers (San Jose, CA) and the host Pioneer Mustangs (San Jose, CA), saw Independence's basketball squad hold off Pioneer by a count of 45-43.
With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The 76ers host Branham (San Jose, CA) to play the Bruins in a challenge on Wednesday, January 18. The Bruins come into the challenge with a record of 5-7. Branham lost 47-36 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln (San Jose, CA)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Cupertino Pioneers (Cupertino, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 16. Pioneer will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 50-33 league loss to Mountain View (Mountain View, CA).
