Franklin County Seahawks (Eastpoint, FL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks (Port St. Joe, FL), 53-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin County upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Seahawks host Chipley (Chipley, FL) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 8-9. Chipley won 73-62 in their recent non-league bout against Walton (DeFuniak Springs, FL)

Next up, the Tiger Sharks play the Wewahitchka Gators (Wewahitchka, FL) in a 1A District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Port St. Joe will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Gators go into the bout with a 1-10 record after their 59-37 non-league loss to Liberty County (Bristol, FL).
