The Vega Longhorns (Vega, TX) basketball crushed the host Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX), 55-32 in Tuesday's league test.

The Longhorns (11-16) will now prepare for their test against Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Steers go into the 2A Region I District 3 test with a 23-3 record. In their last test, Farwell walloped Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX), 67-21, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 4-11 record. They play next when they travel to Panhandle for a 2A Region I District 3 test on Friday, January 19. Bovina will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 89-5 league win over Highland Park (Amarillo, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 13-5.
