Michigan High School Basketball - Mattawan tops Central
January 17, 2023: Mattawan, MI 49071 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI) and the visiting Central Bearcats (Battle Creek, MI), saw Mattawan's basketball squad knock off Central by a tally of 54-35.
With the victory, Mattawan improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Gull Lake (Richland, MI) to play the Blue Devils in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 19. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. Gull Lake won 29-21 in their recent non-league challenge against Portage Northern (Portage, MI)
Next up, the Bearcats play the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - East challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Central will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Maroon Giants come into the challenge with a 8-1 record after their 69-55 non-league win over Lakeshore (Stevensville, MI).
