First-year Aubrey Rogers girls varsity soccer won its last match of the regular season at home Thursday night. Senior Night. Haley Nash. Lone senior. Starting goalkeeper. President of the Senior Class. Nash stopped all seven LaBelle Cowgirls shots on goal. She earned the shutout, the team’s Southwest Florida-leading 12th, an 8-0 win in 51 minutes. The Patriots offense put 18 shots on goal. Seven different players scored, assisted by six different teammates. And Coach Omar Rodriguez played everybody. Rafa Borda Villazon scored twice, the first in the first minute of the match, both assisted by Paisley Hicks. Hicks scored on an assist from Allie Sauer. Olivia Gelardi scored, assisted by Delaney Lefebvre. Lefebvre had a second assist, on Tynley Sujevich’s goal. Sofia Castle scored unassisted. Kendall Persich scored on an assist by Lauren Gorsline. And the final goal, ending the match, came from Lefebvre, assisted by Gelardi, who returned an earlier favor.
