The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Crystal River Pirates (Crystal River, FL) and the visiting Nature Coast Tech Sharks (Brooksville, FL), observed Crystal River's basketball team edge Nature Coast Tech by a score of 63-57.

The Pirates (10-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Citrus (Inverness, FL). The Hurricanes come into the non-league challenge with a 1-15 record. In their last challenge, Citrus was tipped by Hernando (Brooksville, FL), 70-57, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Sharks encounter the Weeki Wachee Hornets (Weeki Wachee, FL) in a 4A District 9 challenge, on Tuesday, January 21.
