McCool Junction Mustangs (McCool Junction, NE) backers went home thrilled Friday as they saw their basketball team thwart the host Deshler Dragons (Deshler, NE), 68-51 in a non-league contest.

The Mustangs (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (Bruning, NE). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 6-7 record. In their last contest, Bruning-Davenport/Shickley was topped by Johnson-Brock (Johnson, NE), 46-35, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Dragons battle the Harvard Cardinals (Harvard, NE) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 24. Deshler will attempt to advance on its 7-5 season record.
