January 17, 2025: Laurel, MS 39440 In Friday's league test, the Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) basketball team toppled the visiting Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), by a tally of 62-47.
The Golden Tornadoes now possess a 15-7 record. They play next when they travel to Newton for a non-league game on Saturday, January 18. Laurel will confront a Tigers team coming off a 54-38 league win over Lake (Lake, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 11-4.
With the loss, Gautier falls to 12-11 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Vancleave (Vancleave, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 5A Region 4 game on Tuesday, January 21. The Bulldogs come into the outing with a record of 3-16. Vancleave lost 52-20 in their recent league outing against Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS)
