In Friday's non-league contest, the host Taft Eagles basketball team scored a close 59-56 triumph over the Lake View Wildcats.

The Eagles (7-13) will now prepare for their contest against Glenbrook North (Northbrook, IL). The Spartans go into the non-league contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Glenbrook North nipped Ridgewood (Norridge, IL), 68-58, in a non-league contest.
