The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Sandy Creek Patriots (Tyrone, GA) and the host Upson-Lee Knights (Thomaston, GA), observed Sandy Creek's basketball team knock off Upson-Lee by a score of 79-63.

The Patriots (14-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Fayette County (Fayetteville, GA). The Tigers come into the AAA Region 2 challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Fayette County prevailed over Mary Persons (Forsyth, GA), 64-44, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights encounter the Lamar County Trojans (Barnesville, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Upson-Lee will attempt to improve on its 11-3 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 95-90 league win over Utopian Academy for the Arts (Ellenwood, GA).
